STUDIO CITY—Comedian Katt Williams, 42, was arrested on Sunday, July 24 under suspicion of battery after an altercation at the Sportsman’s Lodge Hotel in Studio City, according to reports.

Late Sunday morning, Williams was taken into custody after a female employee of the Sportsman’s Lodge claimed Williams had injured her. The Los Angeles Police Department’s Media Relations told Canyon News that Williams was under a private person’s arrest for battery.

Williams faces a misdemeanor battery count and was released on a $20,000 bail. He is scheduled for a court appearance on August 18. The comedian has been arrested several times this year with the most recent incident occurring in April. In April, he was arrested for throwing a salt shaker at a suburban Atlanta restaurant’s manager.

In March, Williams went on a crime spree, according to TMZ. On March 1, he was arrested for punching a pool supply store employee in Georgia claiming that the clerk had made a racist comment. On March 8, he was arrested after firearms and weed were found in his house during a search warrant that was served due to a bodyguard’s claim that Williams tried to have him killed and had him assaulted. In that same month, he allegedly punched a seventh grader and got into a fight with the teen, which was captured on video on March 23.

The comedian recently performed at the Staples Center in Los Angeles on June 23 for his Conspiracy Theory tour. Katt Williams’ web site describes him as “Legendary stand-up comedian, world-renowned actor, rapper and vanguard in an elite category of professionally-touring comics.” His last stand-up comedy special was released in 2014 titled “Katt Williams: Priceless: Afterlife” performed in Ontario, California. He has also had roles in movies like “Friday After Next” and is set to be appear in the movie “Bastards” next year starring Ed Helms and Owen Wilson.
