SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department announced on Tuesday, November 14 that they arrested a suspect connected to a fatal aggravated assault that transpired in August 2023.

The SFPD reported that on August 16, at approximately 3:54 a.m., officers from the Southern Station responded to the area of Rausch and Howard Streets to investigate an aggravated assault. Upon arrival they located a 25-year-old male who was unresponsive. Officers rendered aid and summoned medics to the scene who took the victim to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries, where he later died.

The name of the victim has not yet been disclosed to the public.

The SFPD Homicide Detail took lead on the investigation and identified the suspect as Cornelius Carlisle, 32. Homicide investigators sent out a crime bulletin to department members for the arrest of Carlisle for the homicide.

On November 12, at approximately 11:28 a.m., officers were on patrol on the 100 block of Larkin Street and recognized and detained Carlisle who was booked on a Ramey warrant for homicide (187(a) PC) and transported to San Francisco County Jail.
