SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department indicated on their website that a total of 12 people were arrested in connection to several auto burglaries in the Japantown region. Members from the Northern Station plainclothes team and patrol officers made the arrests in eight incidents that transpired between July 26 and August 15.
The arrests are connected to an ongoing citywide effort of the SFPD to arrest auto burglars and provide crime prevention tips to the public via the City’s Park Smart program to decrease the number of car thefts. Citywide, auto burglaries are down 20 percent as of June 30, 2018.

The following suspects were arrested: Adrian Duran, 22, was booked on the charges of burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and possession of a burglary tool and Clifton Hill, 20, was booked on the charges of burglary, conspiracy and possession of stolen property on July 26 on Geary Boulevard and Laguna Street.
Arrested two days later on July 28 were Andraneesha Johnson, 28, who was booked on the charges of burglary, conspiracy, possession of a burglary tool, resisting or obstructing a peace officer, a probation violation and a warrant for aggravated assault. Jamar Jones, 30, was booked on the charges of burglary, conspiracy and possession of burglary tool.
On August 3, Christopher Mejia, 18, was booked on the charges of burglary, two counts of attempted burglary, conspiracy, two counts of possession of a burglary tool, resisting or obstructing a peace officer. Also on August 3, Antonio Lawrence, 28, was booked on the charges of burglary, obstructing an executive officer, battery on a peace officer or emergency personnel, resisting or obstructing a peace officer and possession of a burglary tool. Lawrence was apprehended on Geary Boulevard and Steiner Street.
On August 4, Jose Chavarria, 26, was booked on charges of conspiracy, possession of stolen property, tampering with a vehicle, a probation violation and a warrant for battery. Erbert Kuku, 39, was booked on the charges of possession of stolen property, tampering with a vehicle and conspiracy. Both Kuku and Chavarria were apprehended near Geary Boulevard and Gough Street.
Dionte Joneslaw, 23, was arrested near Webster Street and Post Street on August 8 and booked on the charges of burglary and conspiracy. Sambra Neberay, 27, was booked on the charges of burglary, possession of burglary tool and resisting or obstructing a peace officer. He was taken into custody on August 11 near Sutter Street and Laguna Street.

On August 15, Sammy Alberto, 33, was booked on the charge of burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and possession of a burglary tool. Steven Wilson, 39, was booked on the charge of burglary, conspiracy, possession of stolen property and possession of a burglary tool. Both Wilson and Alberto were taken into custody near Sutter Street and Fillmore Street.
