Everyone is hurting these days. Despite the bad economy and gas crunch, people still find a way to head to the beach. With the temperatures almost hitting 100 degrees, crowds flocked to the nearest beaches. While some of us don’t own their own private island or beach, we have to deal with unruly kids that kick up sand on the way to the water. Forget it, if you’re looking for a spot on the beach without paddleball playing or football throwing. If you cannot deal with the crowds, traffic, or be a traveling diva, you can certainly stay home in the cool air-conditioned room and watch movies that are so scenic that you’ll feel transported to another place. Some of my favorites are: “Something’s Gotta Give,” “Under The Tuscan Sun,” or “Only You.”
   It sure looks like Angelina Jolie won’t have time to hit the beach, since she probably has late nights and nap duty. That’s correct. Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have taken the twins home, according to People magazine. A hospital rep has confirmed they made a quiet exit early in the morning of July 19 from the Clinic Santa Maria of Fondation Lenval and said: "The mother and babies are doing well." Angie gave birth to Knox Leon and Vivienne Marceline a few weeks ago in Nice, France.
   Speaking of kids, K-Fed keeps the kids. According to E! Online, Britney Spears and ex-husband Kevin Federline have settled their custody dispute. It is reported that Kevin Federline will keep sole custody of Sean Preston, 2, and Jayden James, 1. Miss Spears will be able to visit the boys twice a week and get one overnight visit. The deal, according to the New York Post, will land K-Fed $20,000 a month in child support and full custody. Sources close to Miss Spears told the paper that under the deal, Federline’s monthly child support payments from his ex will zoom from $15,000 to $20,000. For that reason, Britney will land the extra weekly visit if all goes well, People magazine reported. The nightmare began after Spears filed for divorce, first the panties, then the clipping of the hair, then rehab, well, you know the deal. Then finally the parents stepped in, along with the courts. It is no wonder she has hit the studio.
   I’m told soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, a favorite of this column, hobbled off to Los Angeles for the ESPN Awards a few weeks ago, where he was nominated for the Best Male International Athlete. Ronaldo was on crutches in L.A. after undergoing surgery in an Amsterdam hospital to remove cartilage fragments from his right ankle. The Portuguese star did find time to hit trendy nightclub Villa with his brother Hugo and ex-brother-in-law. Ronaldo splashed out more than $15,000 on wine, vodka and bottles of Cristal champagne after arriving at the club. They met up with four models, who sat with him at a private table in a corner. In the club was none other than famous clubber, reality star, aspiring singer and socialite Paris Hilton. According to an eyewitness, “Paris saw Ronaldo and immediately slithered past dozens of women vying for his attention. Then she climbed over his brother and brother-in-law and planted herself next to him. She was flirting with him but he didn’t seem interested since just a week ago he had split with his girlfriend Nereida Gallardo, so he ignored Paris. The Manchester United winger was content to just sit there and drink, until three hours later when he took off in a stretch limo. While most of us would only fantasize about being in the same room as 23-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo, he seems to have his head on his shoulders. I hear that he has plans to open up a mall in Lisbon, Portugal.
