SAN FRANCISCO A well-known, upscale restaurant along San Francisco’s waterfront was the victim of a robbery in the early morning of Wednesday, March 3.

Chaya Brasserie, a Japanese and French-fusion restaurant located on 132 The Embarcadero, was robbed shortly after 12 midnight on March 3. According to reports, two of the restaurant’s staff members were tied by seven suspects who stole money from a cash register.

No customers were inside Chaya at the time of the robbery, as the event took place after the restaurant had closed. According to the San Francisco Police Department (SFPD), the suspects entered Chaya through the side door. The restaurant’s manager and custodian had been restrained by the criminals, while taking an unidentified amount of money.
