HOLLYWOOD—It has become very apparent season 4 of the series “From” is building to something very climatic and I don’t know if that is a good or bad thing. This week’s episode, ‘Best Laid Plans” witnessed some things that left me beyond tense. For starters, Boyd, Jade and Randall found that secret door underneath Colony House, but it was sealed to the point that it was impossible to enter. If a door is sealed shut, that is probably for a good reason, which prompted a talisman for protection.
Boyd on the other hand was unraveling worried about Henry, who is now proving to be the drunk of the town lately. Boyd was debating rather disclosing to the town about what he has uncovered about ‘Fromville’ that may rock a lot of people. Henry was flippant about Boyd’s reveal that Tabitha is Miranda. I’m going to say something that others might not like; I’m over Henry, his drinking habits are just annoying. Victor revealed the Man in Yellow is key to everything and something BIG could be happening again.
Many questions came to fruition after Boyd and Jade revealed a big secret. Questions arose if the town was just messing with their heads. Sophia was just there taking in the information, but she was scared when Boyd revealed he planned to use that weapon to attack one of the creatures.
Julie returned home and learned from Ethan and Tabitha about their journey while they harvested. Tabitha spilled the truth to her kids about her past, where she revealed she has been to the town many times, back to its original existence. Julie got busted smoking by Tabitha, and things became tense between the trio. Julie questioned if her mother and Jade were just being toyed with.
Victor asked Tabitha and Ethan to come with him as he decided to provide them with answers about the Man in Yellow. Boyd wanted to plan for going into the caves, knowing a map of the geography, how many creatures they have to worry about and plan for the town to come back to them, just as Jade released Boyd’s little issue with his shaky hand. Kristie was not happy that Boyd was keeping things from her, just as he had to battle Donna who didn’t want to sit in bed to recover.
I’m with Donna, Boyd is a bit stressed as her worry about Roger not being buried yet, is not good, and that will come into play later. Donna warned Boyd about trying to use one of those totem poles to kill one of those creatures. When Sophia spotted Boyd with that ‘weapon’ she immediately went into worry mode.
Boyd chatted with Ellis about creating a plan to attack those creatures. Boyd I’m with Ellis; this is a risky mission to take. Henry had a strange vision after entering Tabitha’s home where he saw himself hooked up to an IV, which later turned into a scene of him in the hospital and an older Victor caring for him. Tabitha, Ethan and Victor located a yellow vehicle, where the MIY first arrived in town in. There was nothing in the trunk, but Victor looked in the glove compartment and located a brown sack that contained something that left Victor on edge; it was a bunch of teeth.
That’s important because I remember the MIY collecting a tooth from the priest that he killed, so what do the bag of teeth mean, and why did Victor stash them in that vehicle? Victor started to flip out, as Miranda recalled something from her past. The boy lived, is Ethan going to be the sole survivor in this mayhem, as Ethan started to get scared and Tabitha tried to reason with her son, while dissuading Victor in the process.
Sophia aka the Man in Yellow tried to warn Boyd about going into the caves to dig up the bones of the children. Boyd pointed out that weapon which left our little villain unnerved. Jade pressed Kenny about his past, who revealed he was a youth sports coordinator. Sophia went to the farm and took one of the chicken eggs that she used to conjure up a spell on Roger’s doll-like body.
Julie and Elgin chatted about the town messing with their minds, just as Boyd has tried to reason with Henry whose brain is scattered thanks to alcohol and Sophia drugging him. Sara wanted to volunteer for Boyd’s little mission, but he refused to allow her to risk her life. Ellis and Kenny tried to talk sense into Boyd to not risk his life by trying to injure one of the creatures. Boyd was flippant, while Kenny demanded he take the risk, and health concerns arose.
Kenny went outside at night to start to plot his attack, but that pole did not injure the creatures, I think that’s because the MIY conjured up that spell. The creature agonized in pain, but it didn’t hurt him, as Kenny found himself surrounded by the creatures that blocked all the doors. No… the series is not about to take Kenny from us are they?
Kenny ran to the bus, but couldn’t secure its safety, as Smiley went in for the kill. One issue, Fatima has some sort of bond with Smiley and was able to envision Kenny in trouble on the bus. The creatures surrounded the bus, as Fatima screamed out in agony. What did that do? It hurt Smiley to the point where he was forced to back down; so, her tie to the creature means she can weaken him, allowing Kenny to escape.
Back at Colony House, Roger went in on the attack, but Elgin injured him by stabbing him with the totem pole, killing him, as Sophia watched from the stairs. How is no one picking up on what this b**ch is doing! There are only 3 episodes left for the season, I cannot wait till next week.
