GLENDALE—Nicole Richie, star of "The Simple Life," was seen entering the 134 freeway through the exit ram in the wee hours of the morning last Monday.
A concerned motorist saw her and called 911 immediately to report the confused driver as she drove past the Buena Vista exit.
Actual 911 calls can be heard on tmz.com, where the caller states, "I thought maybe it was a cop, but it was just a normal SUV."
Police apprehended the actress and found her stopped in the carpool lane and talking to a friend for directions on her cell phone. According to reports, she said she was following friends, but there was no one around.
The officers then gave her a field sobriety test, which she didn't pass. She admitted to have used Vicodin and marijuana that night, although none was found in the vehicle. She was tested for alcohol but there was none in her system. She was booked at the Glendale station at 4:50 a.m.
Arrest clips from the night of the incident can now be seen on ABC7.com. Although she has admitted to getting help with weight gain, she is still weighing in at 85 pounds and is only 5 feet, 1 inch tall.
Officers say she was very cooperative with the entire process. She was released on $15,000 bail and has a court date in February. Richie may be facing jail time, since this is not her first arrest.
