HOLLYWOOD—Have you been unable to keep up with the ins and outs of what is transpiring on some of your favorite soaps? Well, don’t worry we have you covered. Summer is definitely heating up and so is the drama on your favorite daytime soaps.

For starters, “The Young and the Restless” is gearing up for a major return. For nearly a year, fans have been anticipating when Phyllis Summers previously portrayed by soap veteran Michelle Stafford would be returning to the show. Stafford vacated the role and is now portraying damsel in distress Nina Clay on “General Hospital,” but more on that later. Stepping into the shoes vacated by Stafford, is soap vet Gina Tognoni, who many will remember for her work on “Guiding Light” and “One Life to Live.” We’ve been teased about Phyllis’ whereabouts thanks to the conniving Victor Newman (Eric Braeden), but I suspect before July wraps we’ll get our first glimpse of the actress in the role.

The Phyllis saga isn’t the only craziness taking place in Genoa City, because Stitch’s (Sean Carrigan) past life is coming to surface and his relationship with Victoria (Amelia Heinle) is in jeopardy. Kelly (Cady McClain) spilled the beans to Jake (Peter Bergman) who has promised to stay quiet, but that doesn’t mean Billy won’t dig for the truth. Jeez this love triangle between Chelsea (Melissa Claire-Egan), Billy, Victoria and Stitch is indeed complicated.

Over on “The Bold and the Beautiful,” Ridge (Thorsten Kaye) has finally pieced together the clues about his tragic fall from the helicopter. Yep, he knows that Justin was piloting the plane and that Bill (Don Diamont) was behind it. Uh-oh, Bill’s so called happy relationship with Brooke (Katherine Kelly Lang) could be over, but does that mean she goes running back into Ridge’s arms, not if Katie (Heather Tom) has anything to say about it.

Other chaos in the mix at Forrester Creations is the love triangle involving Liam (Scott Clifton), Hope (Kim Matula) and Wyatt (Darin Brooks). Just when it appears happiness is on the horizon for Liam and Hope, it looks like Wyatt might be edging his way back into Hope’s heart.

For those “Days of Our Lives” fans, Eve (Kassie DePaiva) has swooped into town like a storm to make Jennifer’s (Melissa Reeves) life a living hell. If dealing with her nemesis wasn’t enough, Jen has to grasp with the concept that her daughter Abby (Kate Mansi) is a home wrecker. Yep, the truth about Abby and EJ’s (James Scott) affair has been revealed to Sami (Alison Sweeney) and she is pissed to say the least. There is nothing like a woman scorned, but there is nothing like a Sami scorned. She is looking to make both her lover and close friend pay dearly, but at what cost?

Salem has seen its fair share of villains, but nothing like Clyde, the estranged father to Jordan (Chrishele Stause) and Ben (Robert Scott Wilson). To say these siblings are not happy to see their father would be an understatement. I can only imagine what Jordan will do when she discovers that it was Kate (Lauren Koslow) who brought her enemy to town.  I have a feeling a murder mystery could be in the mix.

Over in Port Charles, Dr. Patrick Drake (Jason Thompson) is in major trouble after Silas (Michael Easton) assumes that the great surgeon implemented malpractice that resulted in the death of his nephew Rafe. Speaking of Rafe, he revealed to Molly (Haley Pullos) that someone set him up to run Patrick off the road, which resulted in the death of Patrick’s son. Only Molly knows the truth, but is having trouble piecing everything together. So just who would want to harm Patrick, Emma and Sabrina?

Sam (Kelly Monaco) has found herself in the middle of a potential love triangle involving Patrick and Silas, but she better be careful because Nina is out for blood. The things this woman will do to exact vengeance on those who scorned her are amazing. Stafford is definitely eating up this juicy role, but she better be careful because her ruse will be exposed very soon. Ava (Maura West) is still in the clutches of Sonny (Maurice Benard), and has turned to her big brother Julian (William deVry) for assistance, but Julian is out of the mob right?

The biggest rumors floating at “GH” is that Jason Morgan, and Robin (Kimberly McCullough) will return to Port Charles. Let’s just say, Jason’s arrival is sure to cause a few fireworks that are well needed for the residents in PC. July might be over, but August is just around the corner on your favorite soaps.
