SAN FRANCISCO—Authorities have located the suspect responsible for an assault that was captured on camera from October 17. Chadly Abdelilah was identified as the suspect in the video and taken into custody on Tuesday, October 29.
The San Francisco Police Department asked the public via Twitter if they could identify the suspect who assaulted a woman and her child. They provided a YouTube link of the surveillance video.
In the video, Abdelilah was seen trying to strike the mother from behind on a sidewalk. The mother and her child were able to get away safely. A motive for the attack is not known.
The SFPD tweeted, “He is currently in custody on a theft-related matter and has been charged with agg. assault and child endangerment for the Oct. 17th incident.”
