SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, May 18, self-proclaimed Austin, Texas-based “Japanese Action Comic punk band’s” Peelander-Z, tour van was in an accident outside of Albuquerque, New Mexico.

It was rear-ended by a tractor-trailer, travelling. All three members, including Kengo Hioki (Peelander-Yellow), Aikihiko Kanazaki (Peelander-Pink) and Peelander-Tiger, were hospitalized with critical injuries.

From Monday, May 18 to Wednesday, May 20, venues along the West Coast tour began receiving notifications of Peelander-Z’s tour cancellation because of the total loss of equipment and injuries to the band members.

On Monday, May 25 concert at Bottom of the Hill San Francisco was cancelled. Before it was cancelled, Peelander-Z was supposed to co-headline with bands UltraBomb and The Freak Accident.

Tickets for the San Francisco show will be automatically refunded at point of purchase. To help support the band members’ medical bills and vehicle recovery, Peelander-Z’s music label, Chicken Ranch Records established a crowdfunding campaign at: https://www.gofundme.com/f/support-peelander-zs-road-to-recovery, and there will be a benefit concert on Friday, May 29 in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
