SAN FRANCISCO—Former President Bill Clinton was in San Francisco on Tuesday, May 24 to attend a fundraiser for his wife Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. Clinton visited the Julia Morgan Ballroom around 10 a.m.
In attendance were students from the Sacred Heart Cathedral who were chosen from the Bay Scholars Program. At the event, George Stratigos commented by saying, “I hope that Bill is able to diffuse the negativity and the parties against party and actually push us to learn what our government is really about.”
Bill Clinton was seen visiting Washington Bakery in Chinatown campaigning for votes. “If we grow this economy from the middle out and the bottom up, like we did when I was President, we can all rise together. But you gotta vote for Hillary,” Bill said.
Hillary is currently in California, but won’t be in Northern California until Wednesday where she will attend an organizing event in Salinas. The event will take place at Hartnell College and will start at 12 p.m. Hillary will attend another organizing event on Thursday in San Jose. The doors open at 11:30 a.m. at Parkside Hall located at 180 Park Avenue.
Hillary turned down the opportunity to debate Bernie Sanders before California’s Democratic primary on June 7. Bernie fired back saying to his supporters on Monday that the snub was “insulting.”
