SAN FRANCISCO—According to San Francisco Police Department, police shortly after 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, a 36-year-old male was shot in the 400 block of Golden Gate Avenue. The incident occurred right across the street from the Phillip Burton Federal Building. The suspect rode up on a motorcycle and briefly conversed with the victim then shot him.

Allegedly the victim was shot in the butt by the suspect and fled the scene. According to the SFPD, the victim was taken to the hospital where he is expected to recover from his injuries. The suspect was riding a black Kawasaki motorcycle.

San Francisco News spoke with San Francisco Officer Grace Gatpandan regarding the shooting. According to Gatpandan, there is no indication that the suspect and victim knew each other. “There is no new information,” Gatpandan said in regards to the case. The police department has yet to released a motive for the crime or any description of the suspect, who is still on the loose.
