NORTHRIDGE—California State University, Northridge will host a lecture on November 14 at the Kurland Lecture Hall next to the Valley Performing Arts Center. The speaker will be Mark Zaurov who will be lecturing on being Deaf during the Holocaust.

Deaf people played a vital role in both WWI and WWII, working in factories and other jobs where their inability to hear was actually a relief, due to the loud noises of the machines. Zaurov will shed light on the less noble roles the Deaf community was forced to play in the shadow of Hitler’s reign.

There will be interpreters present during the lecture which will take place from 2:30-4:00 p.m.
