UNITED STATES—Is it possible that the Miami Heat could be losing its top star? LeBron James, the NBA star who has won two NBA champions with the Miami Heat is becoming a free agent. His agent Rich Paul informed the Miami Heat, that James will become an unrestricted free agent starting on July 1.

The star has been with the Heat for four seasons, where the team has advanced to the NBA Finals each season, winning the top prize in 2012 and 2013. This year the team was dethroned by the San Antonio Spurs who defeated the Heat, 4 games to 1.

James’ decision to opt out of his contract does not mean the star will not return to the team, but is considering his options. James still had two years left on his contract with the organization.
