SAN FRANCISCO— On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, it was discovered from various sources the building for Transamerica Pyramid was being sold to Yoda Plc. for approximately $700 million. On February 24, Michael Shvo and Deutsche Finance America agreed to sell the Transamerica Pyramid to Yoda Plc., which is based in Cyrus.
In 1972, Transamerica Pyramid was completed at the original, estimated construction cost of $32 million to $44 million.
In August 2019, the tourist attraction was listed for the asking price of $600 million, which was the first time in the building’s long history to be sold.
In February 2020, developer Shvo and Deutsche Finance America agreed to buy the building for $711 million. On October 28, 2020, the sale officially went through at a downgraded price of $650 million because of market uncertain caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
In December 2022, at the Transamerica Pyramid’s 50th anniversary, a major renovation that cost an estimated $400 million to $1 billion officially broke ground. On September 12, 2024, the new Transamerica Pyramid Center had its grand opening and public unveiling ceremony.
