SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday, March 17, the San Francisco Fire Department announced that it battled a one-alarm blaze at a school. The incident was reported at 5 p.m. The fire was quickly contained by Engine 4 and all children at the school were evacuated by staff and were safe.
The time of the fire led to issues with pedestrians and motorists in addition to MUNI public transportation having to be stopped in both directions.
The SFFD Fire Station 4 was only two blocks away and had a quick response time and minimal damage was caused. There were no additional details about the incident disclosed to the public like a cause for the fire.
