SAN FRANCISCO–On Tuesday, August 25, a tourist was shot when two men, one described as Black the other Mexican,  stole his camera and he attempted to get it back.

A man from Thailand, who has been determined to be in his 30s, was visiting San Francisco on business. at around 12:09 p.m. near Lombard and Jones Streets, the victim was approached by one of the suspects proceeded to steal the victim’s camera. The suspect fled on foot with the victim giving chase. It was then that a second suspect pulled up in a dark-colored vehicle and shots were fire; the victim was hit in shoulder. The first suspect got into the car with the second suspect and they both fled the scene.

The San Francisco Police spotted the suspects’ vehicle before getting onto Bay Bridge and a chase ensued that led authorities through Emeryville and ended in Oakland.

The car crashed in front of a house on the 1000 block of 60th Street. One of the suspects was arrested on the scene. He was identified as Brian Fox, 24, and was arrested on charges of reckless evading and carrying a loaded firearm.

The second suspect fled the scene on foot until he was stopped by canine units at 1046 60th Street in Oakland. The second suspect has been identified as 25-year-old Eric Anthony Espanol and he was arrested for outstanding warrants that were issued in Mendocino County. He had been caught driving on a suspended license and traffic violation. because he had been caught driving on a suspended license and traffic violation.

The victim was released from San Francisco General Hospital that same Tuesday night and is expected to make a full recovery.

The case is still under investigation.
