SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that transpired on July 15 on the 1400 block of Palou Avenue. According to a press release from the SFPD, officers received a call of a shooting at around 3:38 p.m. Upon arriving on the scene, the officers found the victim, Marshawn Bryd, 18, lying on the ground suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

San Francisco Fire Department paramedics responded and rendered aid, but Byrd died of injuries he sustained while at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. The San Francisco Police Department Homicide and Gang Task Force Investigators commenced an investigation that immediately led to the identity of the suspect.

On July 18, at approximately 2:37 p.m., plainclothes officers from Bayview Station located and arrested the suspect, a 17 year-old, male, San Francisco resident, on the 1500 block of Geneva Avenue in San Francisco. Homicide and Gang Task Force investigators were notified of the arrest which was made within days of the incident. The name of the suspect has not yet been disclosed to the public because he is a minor. Further investigating revealed the suspect was involved in another shooting that transpired on July 10 on the 1400 block of Innes.

That incident resulted in a 32 year-old San Francisco resident suffering non-life threatening gunshot wounds. The suspect was booked at the Juvenile Justice Center on a charge of murder in connection with the July 15 incident and a charge of attempted murder in connection with the July 10 shooting.
