SAN FRANCISCO—Two men were shot in a vehicle while driving on Interstate 280 near Highway 101 around 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 19, says the San Francisco Police Department.

The suspects, only identified as “black males,” fled the scene on the Southbound 101 connector ramp, said SFPD Public Information Officer Albie Esparza. Authorities have not yet obtained the description of the getaway vehicle.

The two victims, both in their 20s, were taken to the local hospital with unknown conditions, said authorities. One man was shot in his torso and leg and the other in the head and neck area.

Following the shooting, the northbound and southbound 280 connector ramps were sealed off to southbound 101, while the SFPD investigated the shooting and the California Highway Patrol investigated the vehicle collision.

Both the northbound and southbound 280 connector ramps to Southbound 101 have re-opened at this time.

The case is still undergoing investigation as “we [the SFPD] are working on obtaining more suspect/vehicle description,” Esparza released in a statement.

Police are asking anyone with information about either the suspect or their vehicle to contact the San Francisco Police Department anonymously at 415-575-4444 or text-a-tip to TIP411 with SFPD at the start of the message.
