SAN FRANCISCO—Deborah Perez, 47, was questioned on Wednesday, June 17, by police claiming she has information and her father is the Zodiac killer.

The Zodiac killer is believed to have killed at least five people and maybe as many as 36 others in the Bay Area.  He sent letters to the San Francisco Chronicle newspaper that made front page headlines and taunted police in the 1960s and 1970s.

According to the Associated Press, Perez said she saw a composite sketch of the Zodiac killer in August 2007 and recognized him as her father, Guy Ward Hendrickson, who died in 1983.

She claims to have helped her father write and mail the letters that terrorized the Bay Area and to have the glasses belonging to Paul Stein, a San Francisco cab driver the Zodiac killer shot to death.  Her father took the glasses off of Steins face and she kept them these many years.  Now realizing they belonged to a murder victim and not her father.

Sgt. Lyn Tomioka, of the SFPD stated to San Francisco News, she is a potential witness based on her statement she made on April 29 in front of the San Francisco Chronicle.  This is an open investigation.
