SAN FRANCISCO—San Francisco Mayor Edwin Lee responded on Wednesday, April 30, in relation to the Generating Renewal, Opportunity, and Work with Accelerated Mobility, Efficiency, and Rebuilding of Infrastructure and Communities throughout America Act (GROW AMERICA Act).

According to the Mayor’s website, he released the following statement, “I applaud President Obama and Secretary Foxx on their leadership, securing funding for critical transportation projects and investing in the economic future of cities throughout of our country. With the looming insolvency of the Highway Trust Fund, the GROW AMERICA Act ensures critical infrastructure projects can move forward, designating $302 billion for highways, transit and rail systems.

For San Francisco, the GROW AMERICA Act will support our City’s efforts to better connect residents to their jobs throughout the San Francisco Bay Area by expanding the innovative public-private partnership grant program and providing an additional $72 billion for transit providers including SFMTA, BART and Caltrain.”
