SAN FRANCISCO—San Francisco Police Officers participated in the Special Olympics Torch Run on June 23. The 8-mile run began at Union Square at 9:00 a.m. and traveled through the downtown area, the Embarcadero, and Fisherman’s Wharf and ending at Union Street.

SFPD Chief Greg Suhr started the run of the torch and was passed to other officers along the route. According to the SFPD website, the Flame of Hope torch run event will continue on to the Special Olympics Summer Games on June 28, in Davis, California.
