MIAMI—On Thursday, June 6, the San Antonio Spurs took game one of the NBA Finals on the road against the Miami Heat. The Spurs won 92-88 to take home court advantage away from Miami.

Tony Parker led the Spurs with 21 points and six assists including the basket that put the game away at the end of the fourth quarter. Tim Duncan had 20 points, 14 rebounds and four assists including the two clutch free throws towards the end of the game. Manu Ginobili came off the bench with 13 points, Danny Green had 12 points and Kawhi Leonard contributed 10 points. The Spurs had a NBA Finals record only four turnovers compared to the Heat’s eight.

Lebron James led the Heat with 18 points, 18 rebounds and 10 assists even with his stellar triple double Miami didn’t get the win. Dwayne Wade had 17 points and Chris Bosh had 13 points for the game. Ray Allen came off the bench to score 13 points for Miami.

The best of seven games series between the San Antonio Spurs and the Miami Heat will continue on Sunday with game two in Miami. The winner of this series will receive the Larry O’Brien Championship trophy.
