SAN FRANCISCO—On Monday , August 10, in the Tenderloin neighborhood of San Francisco on 400 block of Eddy Street on the north sidewalk, a 76-year old man has been critically injured and left unconscious after being beaten by a man with a metal bar.

In an email sent to the San Francisco News on Tuesday, August 11, Officer Robert Rueca sent a press release that said:

“The victim was suffering from apparent trauma and was bleeding from his head. San Francisco Fire Department paramedics arrived and assumed care for the victim and transported him to the hospital with life-threatening injuries”.

After investigating the incident, officers were able to identify the suspect by uncovered surveillance video and witnesses near the scene.

According to the press release, the suspect walked behind the victim and struck him on the head and the blow knocked the victim to the ground. It is believed that the weapon of use was a pipe.

Around 1:39 PM, Peter Nobles was detained and arrested for the following charges, “aggravated assault, elder abuse, attempted murder, battery resulting in serious bodily injury, probation violation, using deadly weapon in the commission of a felony, inflicting great body injury causing comatose, brain injury or paralysis, and inflicting great bodily injury on a victim over the age of 70”.
