SAN FRANCISCO—on Friday, September 19, the San Francisco Police Department announced an arrest has been made in connection to a fatal shooting.

The SFPD reported on September 14, at approximately 6:31 p.m., officers responded to the area of Golden Gate Avenue and Turk Street regarding a shooting. Officers arrived on scene and located a victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound.

Officers rendered help, and paramedics transported the victim to a local hospital for life-threatening injuries. The victim later died at the hospital. The name and age of the victim have not been disclosed to the public.

Through the course of the investigation, officers located a person who matched the description of the shooting suspect, who was detained by BART PD in Oakland. SFPD officers met with BART PD and the detained person.

Officers determined that the detained person was the shooting suspect and developed probable cause to arrest the suspect, who was identified as a Frank Garcia-Calloway, 26.

Officers transported Garcia-Calloway to San Francisco County Jail, where he was booked for charges related to the shooting.

When the victim was declared dead, the SFPD Homicide Detail took the lead in the investigation and will work with the District Attorney’s Office to update Garcia-Calloway’s charges to reflect the murder.
