SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, September 23, the San Francisco Fire Department had to rescue a man from a cliff near Battery Godfrey.

The incident was reported 3:30 p.m., firefighters responded to a report of an adult who had either fallen or was stuck on a cliffside at Battery Godfrey in the Presidio of San Francisco.

The individual was able to call 911 and provide their coordinates and exact location, which expedited the response from rescue workers.

San Francisco firefighters, along with California Highway Patrol Helicopter H-30 and the United States Park Police, collaborated effectively to conduct a successful rescue of the individual.

The male suffered minor injuries and is expected to be okay. The SFFD noted that “Incidents like this serve as a reminder to stay on designated trails, avoid cliff sides, and refrain from climbing on rocks.”
