SAN FRANCISCO—Additional arrests have been made in the homicide of Stephen Williams, a 66-year-old male, whose body was found in Alvord Lake at Golden Gate Park on May 24, according to a press release from the San Francisco Police Department.

Williams had struggled with homelessness in San Francisco and the finding of his body launched an investigation from the SFPD Homicide Detail. The investigation revealed that the victim had been brutally assaulted over the course of three days before succumbing to his injuries.

With the assistance of community members and officers who work with the Park District, Homicide Detail was able to locate two suspects. Stephen Billingsley, 19, and Niki Williams, 36, were arrested for the crimes. Homicide Detail continued to search for all suspects that may have been connected to the case, and found two additional suspects.

On August 23, with assistance from the San Francisco District Attorney’s Office, Sahmanntha Rundstrom, 19, was located and taken into custody in Flagstaff, Arizona. Rundstrom was extradited from Arizona to San Francisco. Also on August 23, Michael Grasso, 26, was located and arrested in San Francisco. Grasso was booked at the San Francisco County Jail for felony homicide and felony death of an elderly adult.
