SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection to a fatal shooting that occurred on Monday, July 2. According to a press release from the SFPD, at approximately 5:20 a.m. officers from the Bayview Station responding to a shooting at Fitzgerald Avenue and Arelious Walker Drive, where a 61 year-old male was found suffering from gunshot wounds.

Officers provided aid to the victim and called for an ambulance. The victim was transported to Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where he died from injuries sustained. The name of the victim has not yet been disclosed to the public.

San Francisco Police Homicide Inspectors commenced an investigation that led to the identity of the suspect.  On Tuesday, July 3, at approximately 12:48 a.m. Bayview Station plainclothes and Housing officers arrested Cardell Mason Coleman, 24, of San Francisco on the 2700 block of Arelious Walker Drive. He was booked at San Francisco County Jail for homicide.  Due to pending identification matters, Coleman’s booking photo is not being released at this time.
