SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department announced on Tuesday, August 13th, that they had made an arrest regarding a homicide in the Bayview District a few days prior.

On August 10th, at around 9:28 p.m., officers responded to a notification alerting them about a potential shooting in the area of the 1000 block of Oakdale Avenue. Upon arrival to the scene, they found a victim, later identified as 34-year-old Dietrich Whitley, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Officers rushed Whitley to the nearest hospital, but the victim ended up succumbing to his injuries.

After SFPD Homicide Detail investigated the scene, authorities arrested 38-year-old Sauntek Harris, a Concord resident. He was charged at San Francisco County Jail on charges of homicide and a felon in possession of a firearm.
