SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department made an arrest connected to a fatal stabbing that took place in the Ingleside District on Saturday, December 1. Officers responded to Geneva Avenue and Mission Street at 9:45 p.m. where they located two victims, one has been identified as 16 year-old Josue David Mejia Sanchez.

According to a press release from the SFPD, aa witness indicated to police a third victim was loaded into a vehicle and driven away. Sanchez was taken to the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital where they attempted to treat the stab wound to his neck. He died from his injuries.

The SFPD carried out an investigation that helped them identify a suspect, 38 year-old Sergio Rocha.  On Monday, December 3 at 6:00 p.m., Rocha was arrested while he was being treated for an injury at ZSFGH . He was booked in absentia on the charge of homicide. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s booking photo will not be released at this time.
