SAN FRANCISCO—A suspect has been taken into custody in connection with a break-in and robbery of a South of Market BMW dealership on Monday, June 1.

Peter Derouen, 37,  allegedly broke into the BMW dealership, located a lockbox containing vehicle keys, and drove through the window of the establishment with a BMW M3.

At 5:23 a.m., law enforcement received a report concerning an injury collision near the crossing of Post and Mason Streets near the Ruby Skye nightclub.

Arriving at the scene, officers discovered the suspect had fled after crashing into a parked car. Though a person was inside of the parked vehicle at the time of the crash, he did not sustain serious injuries.

Just over an hour later, different officers responding to a domestic dispute between a male and a female identified Derouen as the carjacking suspect.

The suspect now faces charges of burglary, two counts of auto theft, attempted auto theft, felony hit and run, felony vandalism, driving on a suspended license, possession of a master vehicle key, possession of stolen property and a traffic warrant.
