HOLLYWOOD—Twi-hards will be gravely upset as “Breaking Dawn Part 2” cleaned up at the Razzie Awards on Saturday, February 23 taking home seven awards including Worst Picture of the Year. The picture also picked up awards for Worst Actress for Kristen Stewart, Worst Screen Couple Taylor Lautner and Mackenzie Foy. While “Breaking Dawn Part 2” was no flop at the box-office, it was not a fave for critics.
The picture also took home awards in the Worst Supporting Actor for Taylor Lautner, Worst Ensemble and Worst Director for Bill Condon. None of the winners actually showed up to collect their awards unlike previous winners Halle Berry “Catwoman” and Sandra Bullock “All About Steve” when they took home the Worst Actress award for their work.
Adam Sandler took home the award for Worst Actor for “Just My Boy.” A much softer year, than 2012 when Sandler’s picture “Jack and Jill” swept the ceremony taking home 10 awards including Worst Picture of the Year. Pop singer Rihanna walked away with the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actress for her stiff performance in the action picture “Battleship.”
While the Golden Raspberry awards are all about poking fun and bad movies and bad performances, not many actors or actresses take part in the ceremony. In the end, if you can’t laugh at yourself for making a bad movie what’s the point because let’s face it ever list A-list actor or actress has done at least 1 or 2 bad movies in their lifetime.
