SAN FRANCISCO—Pyro Spectaculars by Souza, an Rialto-based firework company, produces more than a thousand shows all over the world, including this years Fourth of July show at Pier 39.

Over the weekend, San Francisco locals will be able to catch a laser light show at 9 p.m. followed by a 10,000-firework sequence during the 25-minute show at 9:30 p.m., which has been in works for most of the year.

Along with budgeting the design of custom shows, Pyro Spectaculars must get several insurance, carrying and transport permits allowing the productions to take place.

At this years show, San Francisco onlookers will be able to enjoy a musical score that will be locally broadcasted in addition to being mesmerized by the explosions of light.

The producer of this year’s show, Jeff Thomson, is dedicating the San Francisco production to his mentor, Al Souza, who passed earlier in the year. Thomson is producing 60 other shows this weekend.

San Francisco’s Fourth of July fireworks will be launched from four separate barges placed along the Bay off Pier 39 and Aquatic Park. This will allow first-class views anywhere along the waterfront as the show is ignited by computerized launch-systems.

Pyro Spectacular has been producing San Francisco’s Independence Day fireworks for over 40 years and is also known for their Macy’s Fourth Of July Parade in New York City.
