HOLLYWOOD—Actor Alec Baldwin was detained in New York for allegedly arguing with police who stopped him for riding a bicycle the wrong way up a street. The “30 Rock” star was taken into custody the morning of May 13, after becoming belligerent with police officers who asked him to show some identification, according to published reports.

Baldwin was issued two citations for disorderly conduct and for riding his bike in the wrong direction up a one-way street, said police. He is scheduled to appear in Manhattan Criminal Court on July 24. He took to Twitter and tweeted the name and badge number of the officer who detained him. It is not the first time Baldwin has lost his temper. The last time I saw Alec Baldwin was on April 27 at the premiere of “Compared To What: The Improbable Journey of Barney Frank,” at the Tribeca Film Festival, where he seemed quite calm. Baldwin directed and was the executive producer of the documentary into the life of Congressman Barney Frank.

Hollywood loves film festivals, especially the 67th Cannes Film Festival which began on May 14  and will last till May 25 in France.  Actress Nicole Kidman stars as the actress who married Monaco’s Prince Rainier, played by Tim Roth in the film “Grace of Monaco.”  The film will open up the festival and has been criticized by the principality’s royal family. The Prince and Grace Kelly got married after meeting at the festival in 1955.

According to published reports, the film’s release has been delayed amid rumors of clashes between the studio and director. The royal family, which includes Prince Albert II and his sisters Caroline and Stephanie have said the film is inaccurate. Grace Kelly was both incandescent and evanescent. The Philadelphia socialite first came on to the screen in “High Noon.” She won the 1954 Best Actress Oscar, ostensibly for “The Country Girl,” but also in recognition of her amazing run that year: “Dial M for Murder,” “Rear Window,” and “Green Fire.” Before she became a princess, Kelly had a serene highness-and a passion that made her extremely sexy.

When Kelly wed Monaco’s Prince Rainier in 1956, ending her film career, millions of hearts were devastated and broken. The 12-day festival is held in the south of France and up for grabs is the prestigious Palme d’Or. Some of the Hollywood stars that attended the opening of the film festival were Jane Fonda, Zoe Saldana, Blake Lively, Kendall Jenner, Sophia Coppola, William Dafoe among many more who walked the red carpet.

Stars also joined Prince William as he hosted at Windsor Castle. Emma Watson, Helena Bonham Carter and Kate Moss were among those invited to the black-tie event at the Castle honoring the Royal Marsden, which was founded in 1851. Designer Ralph Lauren, has made a donation to help fund a new breast cancer research centre which bears his name. The Duke of Cambridge is the hospital’s president, which he is following in the footsteps of his mother Diana, Princess of Wales. Missing from the event was the Duchess of Cambridge.

Rose’s Scoop:  Chris Brown, who was sentenced to a year in jail after admitting he violated his probation stemming from his attack on singer Rihanna back in 2009, should be released by May 16. A judge gave Brown credit for 234 days.  Anger management is the key!
