HOLLYWOOD HILLS—Conrad Hilton, the younger brother of reality TV star Paris Hilton and great-grandson and namesake of the Hilton Hotel magnate, was arrested on Saturday, May 6, on suspicion of violating a restraining order by a former girlfriend and grand theft auto.
Officers from the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) responded to the 2300 block of Jupiter Drive in the Hollywood Hills at about 4:50 a.m. Hilton, 23, was allegedly in front of actress E.G. Daily’s home, trying to contact Daily’s daughter, Hunter Daily Salomon, whom he had previously dated. He was found inside a Bentley Convertible belonging to Daily’s ex-husband and Salomon’s father, Rick Salomon, who once starred in a sex tape with Paris Hilton. Hilton allegedly visited Rick Salomon’s home first and stole his car.
“Officers arrived and detained the suspect and the restraining order was confirmed,” said Officer Jenny Houser of the LAPD’s Media Relations Section. “The suspect was taken into custody and he is now being processed.
Hilton was arrested at 5:45 a.m. and taken to LAPD’s Hollywood station at 8:27 a.m. He was charged with grand theft auto and violation of a restraining order and booked on $60,000 bail. As he was being arrested, he reportedly unleashed homophobic and racist slurs at officers and accused them of touching him inappropriately.
Hilton was previously arrested in June 2015 for breaking into Hunter’s home after they had broken up and she had filed a restraining order against him. According to reports, they briefly dated when Hunter was 15 years old. Hunter expressed concern about Hilton’s mental health and erratic behavior.
Hilton has had other issues with the law. He was placed on probation and sentenced to community service after pleading guilty to a misdemeanor charge, following a British Airways flight in July 2014, during which he allegedly threatened to kill the co-pilot and flight crew, called fellow passengers “peasants,” and smoked tobacco and marijuana inside the lavatory. In June 2016, he was sentenced to 60 days in jail for pot, cocaine, and synthetic marijuana use, and ordered to be placed in a residential treatment center.
Hilton’s lawyer, Robert Shapiro, called his behavior “bizarre and unusual.” On Tuesday, May 9, Shapiro will appear in court and ask that Hilton be released on bail if he agrees to go to a hospital and allow doctors to assess and diagnose him, TMZ reported. Hilton’s parents, Rick and Kathy, hope to get him medical help as a result of the incident.
