HOLLYWOOD—This is news that I couldn’t wait to hear. I’ve always been a fan of the “Bourne” movies starring Matt Damon as super-spy Jason Bourne. This is the one franchise where I can honestly say each picture after the first film got progressively better.

Can you imagine that? A sequel that is actually better than the original, yes, it’s something that rarely happens. The franchises last installment “The Bourne Legacy” starred Jeremy Renner, and was minus Matt Damon and director Paul Greengrass. The film was solid, but it was no achievement compared to the previous movies.

Over the weekend actor Matt Damon announced in an interview with CNBC that he was open to reprise his role in the “Bourne” franchise, but only if Paul Greengrass returned to direct. Hmm, that is quite interesting to say the least. Damon already echoed this sentiment in the past, so it’s all in Universal’s hands as to what transpires next. Word has already been released that a fifth installment in the franchise is expected with Renner returning and “Fast and Furious” director Justin Lin helming the next movie.

With that being said, it appears that Damon may return to the iconic character in a sixth chapter in the franchise. I’ve already run out of ideas for titles for each installment so any guesses would be greatly appreciated. I’m guessing if Damon returns, his character will be teased at the end of the fifth installment.
