El Cerrito, CA—On the evening of Tuesday, January 14, 2025, a collision involving four vehicles on westbound Interstate 80 left one person injured, according to KRON

The accident took place around 6 p.m. east of Cutting Boulevard, involved two sedans, an SUV, and an SFO shuttle bus.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the individual who was injured did not suffer life-threatening wounds. Emergency personnel responded quickly, and while three lanes remained blocked as of 7:30 p.m., the situation was being managed to clear the scene.

Investigators are looking into the cause of the crash, with speeding possibly being a factor.

Personal Injury Claims

Determining fault in a collision can involve multiple factors, and under California’s Comparative Liability rule, several parties can share partial responsibility. A personal injury attorney can play a crucial role in helping victims establish legal responsibility after a traffic accident.

Should evidence reveal that another party contributed to the injuries, victims may be eligible to file a personal injury claim with the responsible party’s insurance. This can provide compensation to help cover damages such as hospital bills and lost income during recovery.
