SAN FRANCISCO—A muni bus crashed near an intersection at Lombard and Scott Streets on Monday, September 10 at 5:45 a.m. Milton James, a veteran Muni driver lost control of the vehicle, where dash cam video shows the bus traveling eastbound on Lombard Street, drive over the middle divider, hit a tree, damage a business awning before being stop after hitting a parked white van.

According to the San Francisco Fire Department, at least four injuries were reported, none being life-threatening. Three passengers were on the bus at the time of the crash, all who sustained injuries, including the driver. The San Francisco Fire Department tweeted, “A city inspector has been called to evaluate structural damage to a building that has been struck.” The accident remains under investigation.

“All the injured passengers have been discharged home. The bus driver is still here at [San Francisco General Hospital] and in critical condition,” said Brent Andrew, Chief Communications Officer of San Francisco General Hospital to San Francisco News.

“There are no updates and no changes in the patient’s status. The cause has yet to be determined and the investigation is likely to take several weeks to months,” said Sgt. Michael Andraychak of the San Francisco Police Department to San Francisco News.
