UNITED STATES—On Wednesday, August 7, the NBA announced its opening night schedule for the league. Three games will be played on Tuesday, October 29, which begins the first night of the 2013-14 regular season.
The reigning champions the Miami Heat will open the season at home against the Chicago Bulls. This should be the first game that Derrick Rose will appear since tearing his ACL during the 2012 NBA playoffs.
The Staples center rivalry between the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers will also take place opening night. The Los Angeles Clippers will be led by new head coach Doc Rivers and Chris Paul going up against a Howard-less Laker team with Kobe Bryant in the line up.
