SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department are currently investigating the disappearance of Bob Tang (aka “Bob Tov), who is also a person of interest in the disappearance of Piseth Chhay who was last seen on May 14, 2017. Chhay is an Uber driver. He has been married to Rattana Kim for more than 20 years and is the father of two boys.

According to a press release from the SFPD, Chhay and Tang are family acquaintances, and on June 24, at approximately 10 a.m. investigators and canine teams from the Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Search and Rescue Team arrived to a warehouse, U.S. Trading Co in Hayward, CA after workers located what could be human remains.

The canines searched the establishment, which is the size of a retail warehouse store, and informed their handlers to the presence of possible human remains. The San Francisco Medical Examiner’s Office responded and took custody of several bags which contained human remains. The identity of the deceased is not yet known, pending identification by the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. Due to the condition of the remains, investigators will need to use DNA testing to identify the deceased.

This warehouse is connected to Tang, who is a family acquaintance with Chhay. Authorities suspect that Tang left the U.S. to travel to Cambodia. The SFPD is working with the federal law enforcement partners in an effort to locate Tang. His vehicle was discovered in an SFO parking lot on May 25 and was towed to a police impound for processing by CSI.

Anyone with information regarding this case is asked to contact the San Francisco Police Department at (415) 575-4444 or Text a Tip to TIP411 and begin the text message with SFPD. You may remain anonymous.
