SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department  on Friday, May 3rd, will be holding a graduation ceremony for its 234th academy class at the Scottish Rite, which is located at 2850-19th Avenue at Sloat Blvd. At 6:00p.m., 46 recruits graduated from the police academy.

The Academy class has complete 31 weeks of training. After the graduation, the newly officers will begin a 16 week field training program at district stations.

 The recruits in this class is broken down of earning 3 Masters degrees, 22 Bachelor’s degrees, 6 Associates degrees, 2 Juris Doctor degrees, 1 Postgraduate Teaching Credentials, and 7 prior military. Out of the 46 recruits, there are only 5 female recruits. The youngest recruit is 22 years old while the youngest is 49 years old. Several of the recruits are bilingual. The languages spoken are Tagalog, Visavan, Spanish, French, Cantonese, Russian and Korean.
