SAN FRANCISCO—A mas was shot in San Francisco’s Fillmore District on Friday, March 24, the San Francisco Police Department reported. The gunfire was reported shortly after 8:30 a.m. at Franklin and Turk Streets.

A victim was rushed to a hospital following the shooting a few blocks from San Francisco City Hall Friday morning. His injuries were considered life-threatening, but has since been upgraded to stable condition. Authorities have not disclosed the identity of the victim.

The victim was standing on the sidewalk when the shooter opened fire. A woman driving in the area had her vehicle struck by the gunfire, but was not injured.

Police have detained a suspect for questioning regarding the shooting, but have not released any information  on what his connection to the shooting may be. Surrounding streets in the area were shut down while authorities completed their investigation.
