SAN FRANCISCO—On Tuesday, June 16, Solomon Kahiviano Casperson, 52, of San Francsico was charged with multiple felony counts, including three felony counts of making criminal threats in a sensitive area (Penal Code 422.3(a)) and one felony count of stalking (Penal Code 646.9(a)). There was a criminal complaint with allegations of hate crimes enhancement (Penal Code 422.75) and personal use of a deadly weapon (an umbrella) (12022(b)(1)). When Casperson committed the crimes, he was paroled for prior crimes of second-degree robbery and on court probation for recent vandalism.
Since Casperson is a danger to the public, prosecutors are looking to keeping him in police custody without bail, and his parole was taken away. He was arraigned at 1:30 p.m. at the Hall of Justice.
On April 4, 2026, at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital, Casperson verbally abused a healthcare worker. The health worker turned to another coworker for help, who asked Casperson to wait to go to the waiting room. Allegedly, Casperson refused and used a homophobic slur several times noting he does not like gay people and will follow his victim to his vehicle to kill him.
On Monday, June 8, he returned to the hospital, and threatened to kill the victim while using homophobic remarks. The defendant waved an umbrella while in the presence of other patients. The victim feared for his safety, and Casperson was asked to leave. While leaving, he said he will “bring my gun and shoot all the f—- at the hospital” and will wait for the victim in the parking garage to beat him. Casperson stood outside by the entrance of the hospital, making death threats, threats of violence and harm while swinging the umbrella.
The San Francisco Police Department is still investigating the case. Anyone with details should contact San Francisco Police Department at (415) 575-4444 or its Text-A-Tip at TIP411, starting the message with ‘SFPD.’
