PINE GROVE—Authorities have named Sean Purdy, 20, as a suspect in the murder of his father, Lance Purdy, 52. On January 1, 2020, at around 4:30 p.m., a woman claiming to be Lance wife contacted authorities and asked for a welfare check after not hearing from her husband.

According to the woman, Lance had flown to check on Sean at their home in Pine Grove, but became worried after not receiving any communication from her husband. A neighbor spotted a “large amount of blood” at the home on Kevkie Ct. and Sean leaving from the area in a hurry driving a 2017 blue Subaru Outback.

Sean led deputies from the Warshoe County Sheriff Department on a 12-hour search from California to Nevada. He was spotted by a witness who gave officials a location where he was later arrested.
