SAN FRANCISCO—A police standoff that lasted through the night came to an end on January 23 after officers arrested a barricaded suspect in the Ingleside neighborhood.

The 49-year-old man was taken into custody by city police officers at 9 a.m. Friday morning at a home near the Ashton and Grafton Avenue intersection. After a police search, the residency was declared secure at 9:50 p.m.

Standoff
The police detained the suspect following a night-long standoff.

Police were initially called to the Ingleside home after receiving a call at 6:10 p.m. on Thursday evening after the suspect allegedly entered the home of an 81-year-old woman and began arguing with her.

Following the argument, the women fled her home and the male suspect barricaded himself inside.

Following an overnight standoff and negotiation, the suspect surrendered to San Francisco police officers. It is not known whether the suspect was carrying a firearm.
