SAN FRANCISCO—Officers from the San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect connected to the shooting death of another man on Polk Street. The SFPD reported that on September 15, at approximately 2:34 a.m., officers assigned to Northern Station responded to the 1100 block of Polk Street after hearing a possible vehicle collision. After arriving on the scene, they found a black Toyota Corolla and a gray Honda Civic involved in a crash.

Officers approached the Toyota and saw the driver, Victor Sosa, 23, of San Francisco was suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. Officers called for ambulance and initiated CPR until they were assisted by paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department. Paramedics attempted to resuscitate the victim, but he died on the scene.

The SFPD Homicide Detail responded to the scene and initiated an investigation, and at approximately 3:00 p.m., investigators took  Jose Manuel Beltran, of San Francisco into custody at 850 Bryant Street. Beltran, was a passenger in the rear seat of the Toyota, and was booked at San Francisco County Jail for manslaughter, carrying a concealed firearm in a vehicle and carrying a loaded firearm in public. Due to pending identification matters, his booking photo is not being released at this time.
