The trend of having more additional foot beat officers on San Francisco streets is part of SFPD Police Chief William Scott’s redeployment strategy to provide a more robust approach to identifying criminal activity. Constant evaluation of timely and accurate, data-driven information given to District Captains helps deploy foot beats to known, problematic areas. Members of the public with specific concerns about areas within their district are asked to contact their district station Captain or attend monthly community meetings.
