Park Incident

SAN FRANCISCO—A woman was killed on Thursday, September 5, while in a San Francisco Park after a city truck allegedly hit her. Thirty-five-year-old Christine Svanemyr was in the park with her son and dog when the truck hit her before fleeing the scene.

Around 2 p.m. Thursday afternoon, a truck was driving on the grass at Holly Park when it allegedly ran over Svanemyr and then left the scene. Police later caught up with the suspect and detained him on suspicion of felony hit and run.

The victim’s son and dog were not hurt, but Svanemyr later died after being transported to San Francisco General Hospital. A memorial with flowers was set up for her in the park where the accident took place.
