HOLLYWOOD—Major news was announced this week in Hollywood, as it was revealed that “Avatar” star Zoe Saldana will star in the remake of the 1968 Roman Polanski classic “Rosemary’s Baby.” The NBC four-hour mini-series will have some differences from the popular movie version which was set in New York City, as this version will take place inEurope.
The mini-series is based on author Ira Levin’s 1967 novel. Saldana is set to assume the role portrayed by Mia Farrow, as Rosemary, a woman who goes curious about the event’s that took place in the department that she just moved into with her husband and child to be. As time passes, she grows suspicious of her husband and her neighbors who she thinks has plans for her unborn child.
Saldana recently appeared in the drama “Out of the Furnace,” and had starring roles in J.J. Abrams 2009 hit “Star Trek” and the 2013 sequel “Star Trek Into Darkness.” The screenplay will be written by James Wong “American Horror Story,” “Final Destination” and Scott Abbott who wrote the Emmy-winning “Introducing Dorothy Dandridge.” The mini-series will be directed by Agnieszka Holland.
