SAN FRANCISCO—The San Francisco Police Department have arrested a suspect in connection to death of Carl Holman, who was fatally shot on June 23. According to a press release from the SFPD, at 5:05 a.m. on June 23, officers responded to the unit block on Turk Street in the Tenderloin District regarding a shooting.

Officers found Holman, 43, of San Francisco lying on the ground suffering from a gunshot wound. Paramedics from the San Francisco Fire Department arrived on the scene to provide aid to the victim who later died of his injuries while being treated at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. Homicide investigators conducted an investigation that led them to John Muhammad, 45, of San Francisco. He was found by SFPD Gang Task Force investigators and Bayview Station plainclothes officers on June 25, at approximately 4:30 p.m. on 3rd Street and Palou Avenue in the Bayview region.

Muhammed was booked into San Francisco County Jail on felony murder, carrying a loaded firearm in public place and being an ex-felon in possession firearm charges. Due to pending identification matters, the subject’s photos will not be released at this time.
